Frida
Frida Kahlo. A revolutionary painter of the 20th century. She was tormented by physical, emotional and psychological pain most of her life and yet, she produced over 160 completed paintings in her lifetime. Most of her work was done while she was confined in bed due to a terrible traffic accident she survived as a teenager.
Most of all a painter but still a woman hurt by the man she loved.
“There have been two great accidents in my life. One was the trolley and the other was Diego. Diego was by far the worst.”
She said about her husband Diego Rivera, Mexican painter.
The streetcar accident left her crippled physically and Rivera crippled her emotionally.
